Holiday Home Decorating Contest

 

The Mendham Borough Holiday Home Decorating Contest will for the 6^th consecutive year, so decorate your home for the holiday season. The judging period will be Dec 23-31, 2023, and the contest winner will be announced in January, so leave your lights on at night!

Participation is open to all residents within the boundaries of Mendham Borough. There is no entry is free, and no application is required. The contest is for exterior decorations only, including decorations in windows that are visible from the exterior.

The Mendham Borough Recreation Committee will be roaming the Borough for the best home. Judging will be done from outside the residence only and will be based on “curb appeal” as viewed from the street only. Therefore, only those decorations located on the street side of the property will be judged (corner lots will be judged from both streets).  Judges will not enter the property to view back or side yards.

Participants agree to have one or more photos of their decorated residence exterior posted on the Mendham Borough website and/or published in the Mendham Messenger newsletter.

Judging criteria will include [a] Unique design and creative use of lights and decorations; [b] Storyline or theme; [c] Display and placement of decorations, animated objects, etc.; and [d] Overall presentation.
