Message from the Mayor

Release Date: March 22, 2020

Dear Mendham Borough residents and business owners,

A Mendham Borough family notified us yesterday afternoon, Saturday March 21, that one of their family members had received a positive result from a Covid-19 test that had been confirmed by a written diagnosis from Atlantic Health. We understand that this may be just the beginning of positive cases being reported here.

We immediately shared this documentation with our Board of Health provider, who notified us that we are not allowed to release this information to the public until the result was verified by the state and uploaded into their CDRSS database.

I have decided that this information is too important to hold until the database has been updated. As a matter of public interest, I feel obligated to communicate any information about any communicable disease as soon as we are notified.

Following guidance from health authorities, this family has been safely quarantined since prior to the confirmation and the infected family member is being cared for at home and is expecting a full recovery.

Should you or a family member feel you may have contracted the Corona virus, please stay at home and call the Mendham COVID-19 line (973) 543-7152 Ext 0. You will be connected with a member of the Bernards Township Board of Health. You can also contact the
Morristown Hospital Nurse Screening line (862) 260-3199.

If you need assistance due to the Governor's stay at home order that is not related to symptoms, please call our main line (973) 543-7152 ext. 13 or email us at COVID19@mendhamnj.org.

The best way we can all help control this outbreak is by staying at home.

Stay safe,

Christine Serrano Glassner
Mayor
